Any commercial steel chimney or flueing system will always suffer from some sort of corrosion over time. The regular use of venting systems for heat and the scale of the developments means that maintenance needs to be regular.

The swaged starter pipe with an inward locator bead on the male spigot is used on stoves which have no built in stop point within the stove spigot to prevent a standard pipe from dropping down inside the stove. The outward bead of the starter section rests on the spigot and the inward bead on the male spigot of the starter section acts as a location point for fire rope stopping it from dropping off the spigot over time.
Commenting on the latest data Andy Hill, chair of the Stove Industry Alliance, said: “We welcome the revisions to the government’s statistics on PM2.5 from domestic combustion sources that have been announced. The SIA has long maintained that the volume of wood fuel used to calculate the previous figure had been significantly overestimated, and this has now been officially acknowledged.”
One of the Frequently Asked Questions asked about chimney and flue installation is the “Distance to Combustibles”. So what does this mean?
As you may be aware during the last 12 months, we have seen a dramatic increase in raw material prices which have resulted in our prices being increased.
ICID Plus has been tested and approved to meet the latest BS EN1856-1 requirements when passing through either combustible or non combustible floors with a distance to combustible material of 50mm within both the floor cavity and within a shaft. The firestop plates have also been tested and approved to BS476 Part 20.
The source of the natural pumice insulating material, used in all of our Isokern range, from pumice liners and blocks, to the Garden Fireplace.
This updated design of the Pot hanger in the key Ø125 and Ø155 diameters brings additional strength with mesh included as standard; one piece looped straps fasted with bolts to the terminal cap and spot welded to the mesh, and Schiedel’s tested and approved screwfit design ensuring that this pot hanger and terminal can bear the weight of up to 15m of TecnoFlex Plus liner.
