Send off for a long-serving employee

(Washington, Tyne and Wear, 01. November 2018) Adrian Wood joined Rite-Vent back in 1973; the year Britain joined the EEC and VAT was introduced.

Ironically, he leaves us us as Britain is leaving the EU, but that didn’t stop us celebrating on his last day and then springing a surprise meal on the evening at Sabatini’s in Newcastle.

Adrian has filled so many roles within Schiedel, and Rite-Vent before. He started as a machine operator in the press section, managed distribution centres, and even operated within marketing, with brochure production. He has worked on probably every product the factory makes and his most recent role, as Training and Technical Support Manager, has been invaluable to Schiedel, as well as being his final one before retirement.

He’ll be spending his retirement concentrating on his true love – cricket and we’ll surely miss his “club singer” versions of famous songs, and his cricket anecdotes. Good luck in your retirement, Adrian!
