Biomass Installation at Hartpury College.

(Washington, Tyne and Wear, 29. November 2018) Biomass, being an organic material that comes from plants and animals, is an ideal source of energy as it’s renewable. Which is why the Sports Academy at Hartpury College was the ideal location to install a biomass system, as energy efficiency is of paramount importance in large, non-residential dwellings.

Commercial installation.

Schiedel were involved with GW Installers and Zero Ridge, in installing an ICS Flue Chimney System, in a relatively straightforward operation. The flue was painted to the required colour of Merlin Grey to meet with the aesthetics of the overall design, which isn’t a issue, as Schiedel’s Paint Plant can match any customer requirements.

Schiedel’s ICS Flue Chimney System is a twin wall flue manufactured with a stainless steel liner and stainless steel case. It is insulated with a 25mm thick high-density (128kg/m³) superwool blanket. Features include:

  • Continuous Firing Temp: 450° C
  • Short Firing Temp: 550° C
  • Pressure Capabilities: 40Pa
  • Fire Rating: 4hrs to BS476 Part 20
  • Thermal Shock: 1000°C
  • Ave. Thermal Resistance (200°C): 0.508m² K/w
Again, it shows the impressive range of work carried out by the Schiedel Commercial team on a regular basis. For more information, don’t hesitate to contact us by visiting this page.
