Standard edition with Cap

The standard edition static piston is fitted with a rain cap to protect against rain or snow falling into your masonry chimney.

The Static piston Superior edition protects your chimney against all weather conditions: the fall in from rain or snow, and the draft from the wind from any direction.

Details & Services

Schiedel static pistons (concrete draft regulators) are available in two editions. The Standard and the Superior edition. Each type of piston has its own structure and is available in several combinations. Read more about the structure of the static piston system below.

The structure of the system

A standard edition piston consists of 3 or 4 rings and 1 lid.
A superior type piston consists of 3 rings and 1 crown. Bird mesh has been placed in the crown, and there is a diffusing spreader hanging in it that ensures optimal draft in every wind direction.

Installation example

A separate piston can be placed on each channel. The dimensions depend on the underlying channel. You must take into account the internal dimensions of the channel. For channels that are next to each other, you can obtain pistons with straight sides. Please consult our technical office for any questions.
