Shipbuilding and offshore platform construction have many industry-specific challenges such as environmental issues, noise emissions and the effects of the saltwater. Modern ships, superyachts and tugs require a multitude of exhaust systems for applications such as diesel engines, boilers, waste incinerators and galleys. In addition to modular exhaust systems; which are type approved by ABS, DNV GL, Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's Register and PRS; our engineers specialize in customized solutions for the maritime industry. Together with our partners such as shipbuilders and shipyards, we developed innovative solutions such as our silencers for marine engines.

Marine Engines

With decades of experience in the field of exhaust systems for marine applications, Schiedel has an impressive reference list. This includes exhausts for engines of super yachts, cruise ships, platform supply vessels and tugs. Our project engineers have extensive knowledge of marine exhaust applications and are always on standby to advise our customers and provide calculations in the field of acoustics, back pressure, outer wall temperature etc.

Marine Silencers

Our marine silencer range includes silencers that guarantee excellent attenuation over the entire frequency range. All components are made of stainless steel and the AISI 254 SMO outer wall of the AM products (upper deck) offer the highest possible corrosion resistance.

Marine incinerators

Waste mangagement is an important aspect in marine vessels. From initial design and custom production to seamless installation and ongoing support, Schiedel provides a complete solution to meet the rigorous demands of marine waste management and ensure optimal performance of incineration systems on board.

Sustainable co-development

The marine sector is being driven to become more sustainable. This sustainability drive is accompanied by the economic development of new devices. The sector is considering more sustainable fuels such as hydrogen, methanol, HVO (hdyro treated vegetable oil) and ammonia for engines. Schiedel CoE regularly works with different partners during this sustainable transition in both the development, testing and implementation phases of innovation projects to bring them to a successful outcome.
