(Okup Wielki, 24. November 2022) To further cope with the strong demands in the Schiedel steel business, the Schiedel Group has decided to build a completely new and efficient steel plant. On the 17th of November 2022 the symbolic first shovel had taken place with the Schiedel Leadership Team.

Schiedel has commenced the construction of a new production plant in Okup Wielki.

The area of the entire investment is comparable to the area of seven football fields and amounts to 48,900 m2.

This event, important to further strengthen the steel business, was attended by: representing Schiedel Alessandro Cappellini (President Schiedel), Andreas Schlechter (Director Operations), Krystian Kula (AREA CEO East-Central) and Leszek Demciuch (Operations Director). On the side of the general contractor – Adamietz – Wojciech Gerber (Branch Director), Piotr Owsianka (Project Implementation Director) and Damian Łata (Site Manager). The project management, the Gleeds company, was represented by: Paweł Badura (Łódź Branch Director) and Paulina Chałupka (Junior Project Manager).

Alessandro Cappellini, opened the meeting by saying:
”The construction of a new production plant in Poland is the largest investment for the Schiedel Group in over 20 years. It is a breakthrough moment for us, which will help us prepare for the next years of operating on the market.”

The plant in Okup Wielki will produce steel chimney systems for the needs of the entire Schiedel Group throughout Europe. It will be an extremely important plant for the development of the entire Group.

Ultimately, the plant intends to employ about 200 people in the production and another 40 persons in the administrative area. Compared to the current plant in Wiewiórczyn, which produces steel chimneys, the area of the new plant will increase threefold. There will be additional production lines and process automation will be introduced.

Production in the new plant is scheduled to start at the end of 2023.
